As the Director of Residency Engagement at the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), I have over 20 years of experience in leading and managing innovative mission-focused organizations and clinical/non-clinical teams. I am passionate about transforming healthcare and medical education through primary care, the cornerstone of a high-quality, equitable, and sustainable health system.
In my current role, I leverage competency-based education, care delivery innovations, and mixed-methods research to support U.S. family medicine residency teaching practices in producing the best and brightest family physicians to remake the U.S. healthcare system. I pursue bold, evidence-based ideas, centering on primary care, to reimagine care delivery, payment, and training to achieve better quality, improved patient activation and engagement, and reduced health care disparities. I am an advocate, change agent, practice facilitator, educator, program designer/manager, and servant leader with the persistent ambition to ensure that everyone has access to a personal doctor and care team that can truly support them with high-performing primary care.
