Lauren Clemmons, DO, FACOFP, serves as Associate Professor of Family Medicine & Osteopathic Principles and Practice at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM). Dr. Clemmons obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Furman University and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. Dr. Clemmons is board certified in family medicine and osteopathic manipulative treatment, and served as a family physician in Georgia prior to joining ACOM. Her research interest is in medical education research. In 2021 she received a grant from the American Medical Association for the "Implementation and assessment of the AMA blood pressure training modules throughout a medical school curriculum." Dr. Clemmons currently serves as a course director for the Primary Clinical Skills courses at ACOM. In 2022 she received the Fellow Award from the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) and was inducted into the ACOM Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Clemmons is also a national faculty member for the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and serves on numerous ACOM committees and task forces. She is currently an Alabama delegate and a member of the Membership Committee for the ACOFP.
