Dr. Roberteen Holmes McCray was born and raised in a small town in Northwest Louisiana. After completing high school Dr. McCray attended Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering.
After graduating from Louisiana Tech University, she accepted a position at Kennedy Space Center with the Bionetics Corporation as a Payload Mission Manager for Space Shuttle and Space Station on the life sciences services contract. While working at Kennedy Space Center, she worked with scientists and engineers from around the world and was able to travel the country. She received numerous awards for her contribution to various projects that were part of both space shuttle and space station missions. After leaving her position at Kennedy Space Center, Dr. McCray accepted a position in Systems Engineering Management with Viper Engineering, LLC as a Data Librarian for the Joint Strike Fighter Autonomic Logistics Information System Program.
After finding herself between jobs and with support and encouragement from her husband, Dr. McCray, re-entered the world of education and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. After graduating from the University of Central Florida she then briefly worked for a Family Medicine physician prior to being accepted into Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine in Henderson, Nevada. While at Touro University Nevada, Dr. McCray was recognized by various departments for her work with other students, faculty and staff. Dr. McCray completed her residency training in Belle Glade, Florida at Lakeside Medical Center in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine. She is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP) in Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy and is currently employed by CFP Physicians Group in Casselberry, FL.
While many of Dr. McCray’s accomplishments are not listed, she believes her greatest accomplishments have been outside the professional world. For more than fifteen years, Dr. McCray has been active with teens and young adults with artistic performance and dance for various groups in Brevard and Orange County. She and her husband have spent countless hours as mentors for young men and women, encouraging them to pursue their dreams. In her spare time Dr. McCray enjoys cooking, writing poetry and short stories and binge-watching international dramas.
