Dr. West is a 2015 graduate of the WVSOM and attended residency at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport WV until 2018. She is actively involved in undergraduate medical education through collaboration with WVSOM’s statewide students during didactics as well as aiding to train colleagues in both OMT as well as in Point of Care Ultrasound. In her Faculty position at UHCFM she has developed the daily noon lecture series, hands on block didactics, POCUS curriculum, Sports Medicine Curriculum and OMT for MDs curriculum in her residency. She is interested in the intersection of technology and medicine, particularly novel devices and virtual reality as they relate to resident education and patient care. On a national level, she has lectured at conferences including for the ACOFP on these novel technologies. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and dually board certified by the ABFM and AOBFP. She is enthusiastic about training the next generation of physicians to be leaders not only in their communities but among their colleagues and hopes to inspire learners to be early adopters of medical innovation. In her personal life, she is a lover of dogs, cooking and travel and resides in her rural hometown of Fairmont, WV.
