Dr. Waters, DO, FACOFP is currently the Interim Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and the Chair of Primary Care at PCOM-GA, and is currently also serving as the the GA-ACOFP President and GOMA Secretary and Treasurer. Dr. Waters moved up to Georgia for this position following 15+ years in clinical medicine. Dr. Waters is the first in his family to finish college and go to medical school. After finishing medical school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Class of 2007), Dr. Waters moved to Jacksonville, FL to do residency at St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency.
Upon completion of residency, Dr. Waters worked for non-profits for over 12 years, mainly working for UF Health. Dr. Waters was Medical Director of 3 different clinics for UF Health, and compliance chair for UF Health Community Health and Family Medicine Department. Throughout his clinical career Dr. Waters sought to teach medical students and residents, while earning Excellence in Medical Education award, multiple Golden Stethoscope awards, and a preceptor of the year award.
Dr. Waters also has been on the FS-ACOFP board for multiple years, helped organize state and regional conferences, presented at state and regional conferences, and worked with the NBOME as an examiner for the osteopathic board practical exam since 2014. When not working Dr. Waters loves to travel and has seen most of Georgia by taking his two son’s to all of their soccer and scouting events across the state, and has been blessed to be accompanied on this adventure and supported by his loving wife for the past two decades.
